Washington, D.C. – Congressman Pete Visclosky announced today that the City of Gary has received a grant of $1,875,000 from the U.S. Department of Justice to pay 15 full-time police officers over a three-year period. These officers will be assigned to the city’s schools as School Resource Officers (SROs).
